Politico threatening to sue you is similar to the Trump regime’s abandoning due process to send immigrants to overseas gulags. If they get away with silencing you, then anyone can be silenced. If the regime gets away with extrajudicially kidnapping and imprisoning immigrants overseas, then anyone could get sent away like that.
Thank you for fighting back and defending your/our rights!🤓💙
I sent an email to Mr. Harris. I asked that he show he believes in the US constitution and the free speech it protects. I related my experience working for a global company and understand the difference between ownership that is far removed from the local experience. I noted he has power few Americans have and asked that he use it to support democracy.
Please stay strong. You are one of the brave ones. History will remember those who stand for the right. The truth need to be heard and spread to as many people as possible. There are many of us supporting you in your fight against these tyrants. Bless you - for what it’s worth, I so admire your strength and commitment!!
I sincerely hope Telos survives this. My most charitable interpretation of Politico’s threats is that they are killing a movement via instigating in-fighting and letting pride over their brand get in the way of doing and supporting the important work. Less charitable: they’re consciously complicit in building the authoritarian state we’re trending toward. Neither is a good look.
It’s easy to defend free speech when the speaker is furthering your own agenda. This is a big opportunity for Politico to prove their commitment to freedom—because you can only ever prove your commitment to freedom when that commitment is honestly tested, when you have skin in the game or something at stake. I hope Politico sees this moment for the opportunity that it is. It’s not too late for Politico to be a hero.
If Mathias Döpfner persists, be sure you include reimbursement of all your legal costs as part of Telos.news' recompense. A hefty punitive sum as well, if appropriate. Is this something the ACLU would handle?
Nice to know there are a few spines left in the good old US of A. Keep up the good work and know that people all over the world, including here in France, have your back, Ryan.
Freedom of speech, rule of law, separation of powers, co-equal branches of government are the bedrock of America and why the United States is the greatest country the world has ever known.
What the Trump admin is doing, via advisors and surrogates like Bannon, his pal, former law clerk and advisor to Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh as they were going through the confirmation process, attorney Mike Davis & affiliated is to intimidate and undermine our institutions, the courts and our legacy media. I know you completely understand these are intimidation tactics to silence those who expose the corruption, authoritarian methods and attempts to turn America into a system of government that resembles Victor Orban’s Hungary and not the United States that has been the leader of the free world.
Your work matters. Your *fearlessness* matters. Please know, you have more support than you could possibly imagine. Your bravery is inspiring people, Ryan! More Americans *will* step up for the right to dissent against this administration, including corporate entities and media executives that are capitulating to the Trump admin— even in their cynical “both-sides” manner.
The question all operating in United States media, particularly those in D.C., those with access should be asking themselves: is my reporting working to ensure that our democracy survives or is it short-term note-taking of an incredibly dangerous and corrupt government?

Well said, Violet,
I just sent an email to Mr. Harris on your behalf...suggesting he rethink his requests which smack of censorship.
Ryan, you have the right to write & speak freely. Intimidation is WRONG ! We stand with you again we have your back.

Honor the truth, not the narrative!
Take the assholes down!
