Yes, this is the best advice even though I love the name Bodhi. When we brought home our Yorkie pup I immediately wanted to call him Jaws, but we ultimately went with the less controversial Chewbacca.
Name for your new puppy: What about Cronkite, after Walter? Or Walter? Whatever happened to Carol Leonig at WaPo? I’m really looking forward to your investigative piece! Thank you. Working From Home is the best. Don’t worry about Room Rater.
Adorable pupper! A humble, non-binding suggestion from the bleachers—maybe don’t name him anything to do with the news or your business. There’s a lot of stress these days. Puppies and dogs (and every animal, frankly) are pure love. Pick something that brings you joy and matches his personality when you meet him. Have a great week!
First of all I’d love to know what a “working” cocker spaniel is. Second, I read what really catches my eye and mostly watch videos. Happy to see where you go from here. w
In my limited understanding there are “show” cockers and “working” cockers. The latter are traditionally bred for hunting and are apparently higher energy.
Good evening, Ryan! Decided to take the plunge and subscribe to your Substack after listening to your Steve Schmidt interview. For me, committing financially to a new Substack is a splurge at this point. Many of my favorite writers are understandably jumping into this pool! I hope you and your fellow readers can help give me clarity on three questions I have. Maybe these questions will inspire future posts!
Without naming names, what are the ingredients for a well-balanced, informative news diet? If you want to give specifics for, say, a $50.00/month budget, fine, but I’m thinking more generically.
Do you think other beats outside of DC Politics (e.g. sports, science, fashion) currently have similar blind spots you see in mainstream DC coverage?
Regarding Trump’s addition of joke journalists to the press pool: If looked at on paper, removing Trump from the equation, does he have kind of a point? -Do- we hear from the same reporters too often? When I was a kid, it puzzled me why Helen Thomas always got to ask the first question. Was she a great writer and pioneer? Of course! But I never understood why the Journalism Network always put her on a pedestal.
Maybe you should wait till the pup is home so he can show you who he is.
That is very sound advice!
Thanks! It's aways worked for my pets.

You’re going to do just fine. As always, be your authentic self and the rest will follow.
Thank you for believing in our mission. It means a lot!
How about Murrow ?
( Edward R. Murrow) I do agree wait till puppy comes home and see which of the names fit when he shows his personality.
Can’t wait for the article. You are serving us all with such integrity. We need you. Just subscribed to YouTube channel.
Thank you 🙏

What an adorable puppy! Don’t call him Bodhi, though. Marc Elias’ dog is named Bodhi and I don’t want to get my Substackers’ pets mixed up.
On the other hand, maybe everyone should name their pet Bodhi. Then I definitely won’t get mixed up.
Oh, wow, I didn’t know that about Marc’s dog! I guess that might be out now, though it was the frontrunner.
I was really just poking fun at myself for being easily confused. Bodhi is a fine name and you guys should use it if you like it!
I’m privileged to be able to subscribe to a voice that will shout against the wind for me. Thank you
Oh Bodhi… like head and shoulders above all those other names!! what a cutie you’re having a great week!! glad you made it to Substack

Sweet! Can’t wait to see the puppy’s personality.
